Recovery Milestone

What is 'Recovery Milestone'?

This field was once labeled "Sobriety Date" however we relabeled it in order to adopt a neutral approach wherein clients define "Recovery Milestone". If a client embraces an abstinence-based approach to recovery from AUD, OUD or SUD, then it is their "Clean date" or Sobriety Date". If the addict decides that their definition of "Recovery" pertains exclusively to abstinence for a particular substance, but not all substances, then the date that ceased using that particular substance would be their Recovery Milestone date. However; ROI has no position regarding what substances residents of your program are permitted to use. If your policy is abstinence from all mood-altering substances, we support your position. That said; REC-CAP does not score use of prescribed Opioid Replacement Therapies (Suboxone, Subutex, Sublocade & Methadone) as a barrier to recovery.
